SUSTAINABILITY AG GRUPPEN ANNUAL REPORT 2020 09 At our head office in Hollufgård, we now keep honey bees in what’s called a ’flow hive’, where the bees place their honey at the top of the hive. This meant that in 2020, we were able to serve our own honey to both employees and visitors. It’s fun to follow the bees and their lives all year round. A whole new world opens up, and it gives us a fresh new way of looking at the flowers, the weather and the insects. It’s a pleasant, social pastime and also great to be able to give something back to nature. Our sustainability goals At AG Gruppen, we want to be a major recognised player in sustainable and certified construction. That is why we continuously work to develop our competencies and projects within sustainability by using the latest technical solutions, data collection and improved materials. As part of our work with our sustainability strategy, we have set the following goals: Reducing waste. We will reduce our waste vo- lumes on construction projects and increase our focus on sorting at source at our construction sites, so that everything is sorted correctly. We will focus on the recycling potential of materials during demolition, so that they can be reused in future buildings or by establishing collaborations with recycling stations that transfer surplus mate- rials to residents. Eliminating defects. Failures, defects and da- mage account for 10% of the construction indu- stry’s total CO2 emissions in Denmark. Through increased focus and quality assurance, we will reduce the extent of failures, defects and damage to our buildings, measured on the costs of this after the building has been handed over. This also results in more satisfied customers, happier employees and a better bottom line. Resource consumption. We will strive to reduce our resource consumption in terms of work- related transport, food waste and energy con- sumption at both our offices and our construction sites. More meetings throughout Denmark must be held online, and we will support employees’ opportunities to cycle and run to work, including through improved changing and bathing facilities. Moving our headquarters to newly-built premises certified according to DGNB - Heart for healthy in- door climate, as well as appointing environmental ambassadors at our offices and construction sites, will result in significant savings to the company’s internal resource consumption. Skills/training. Our level of knowledge and competence must comply with both legal require- ments and market wishes. We will work purpose- fully with data, external as well as internal, in order to constantly improve our processes and ensure our projects are at the forefront of new legislation and knowledge. We use DGNB as a certification scheme, and all our employees must be trained so that we can translate the scheme into relevant and meaningful tasks throughout the organisation. n
